Outdoor activities holiday: trekking on Lake Garda and open-air activities
Holidays and sports on Lake Garda: a perfect match for those who expect peace, relaxation, carefree evenings from a holiday, but also the opportunity to keep in shape while having fun with different sports!
Hiking trails of all difficulties for trekking and Nordic walking, tracks and cycle paths along the coast, inland or on the mountains around the lake; water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing and diving; climbing, sport fishing, tennis, golf, paragliding... these are some of the main activities in order to live in symbiosis with the nature of the area!
Lake Garda is without any doubt one of the ideal destinations for sports enthusiasts of all levels, from the beginner or the less trained who just want to cycle from one village to another, to paragliding fans for panoramic flights over Lake Garda. The three main categories are: mountain lovers, water sports fanatics and road cyclists, although there is of course no shortage of other activities such as golf or horse riding.
For the mountain lovers, the many hikes on the peaks surrounding the lake, on the shores of each of the three regions bathed by the large body of water, are certainly a must for lovers of altitude and woods, and there is also plenty of opportunities for climbing on Lake Garda and in the nearby Adige Valley, a popular destination for the climbers.
Trekking and excursions on Lake Garda are activities that can satisfy anyone who loves walking, as they can take comfortable, short, flat walks at high altitude, also by taking the various cable cars that from the lake or from lower locations lead to the top, or, for the more well-trained, enjoy more challenging climbs and breathtaking views of the lake and all the surrounding mountain chains. In any case, there are many easy excursions on Lake Garda to suit also the less trained.
Another sport that is very much part of the Lake Garda region is cycling, which finds plenty of space to be experienced in total serenity, both on and off the road and more in the nature. Every day, many trained cyclists ride around the lake along its 142 km length. There are two pieces of advice here: it is best to avoid the warmer months and choose the clockwise direction to do the tour. It is a challenging tour that requires good preparation, but it offers many emotions.
For those who love off-road cycling, there is no lack of bike excursions on Lake Garda, also in this case for every type of cyclist, from the novice to the most reckless. The Malcesine-Monte Baldo cable car offers special bike rides and itineraries even for real pros!
Last and absolutely not least are the water activities, which obviously find their ideal habitat here. Just as with cycling and the mountains, also in this case Lake Garda offers possibilities for everyone, from the most experienced windsurfers, who find plenty to do in the suitable for everyone, to relaxing sailing excursions on Lake Garda.
