Parco delle Cascate - Molina
Welcome
...to Parco delle Cascate, a natural oasis full of water and waterfalls just a few kilometres from Lake Garda and Verona.
The Waterfall Park is located just a few minutes' walk from the medieval village of Molina and is the ideal place for a walk immersed in nature and the tranquillity of the woods and waterfalls.
The particularity of this area is the abundance of water, thanks to the existence of perennial springs located north of the village of Molina. The water from the springs, channelled towards the mills with stone channels, flows down into the valley, giving rise to the series of waterfalls that characterise the Park, facing rocky overhangs and penetrating narrow, damp gorges.
The Park offers visitors an unspoilt environment, pervaded by the echoes and coolness of the numerous waterfalls, crystal-clear pools and roaring torrents, gorges inhabited by salamanders and rocky precipices. The biodiversity in this area is also recognised and protected by the European Union, which has listed it as a Site of Community Importance and monitored it to safeguard endangered botanical and faunal species.
Visitors can choose between three paths, well signposted and interspersed with rest stops to enjoy the coolness of the water and the stream. The various paths, welcoming and well signposted, make it possible to choose the itinerary best suited to the needs of families, groups or individual naturalists, and to be tempted by the thrill of the zipline over the Tombolo waterfall.
Once in Molina, before descending to the park, a walk through the small village is a must, built entirely of Lessinia stone, following ancient rules and knowledge and structured in courtyards to protect the men and animals housed in the stables on the ground floor of the buildings.
The Mulin de Lorenzo and the 18th-century Mulino dei Veraghi have been restored and opened to the public to return visitors to the industrious atmosphere of when the millstones for wheat and other cereals, the mallet, the fulling mill and other machines were powered by the energy of the water channelled through the mill wheels.
The mills and the malga, located in the village, are open to the public by appointment.
