Manerba del Garda
The Rocca of Manerba is located on a cliff-side rocky spur on Lake Garda and is very easy to reach by car from the center of Manerba del Garda. It an extraordinary place for its position and for its history. On the top there are the rests of the Castle known as "Rocca" and they’re overcome by a big cross. You can access to the rock from the path that crosses the 90 hectares park, which is called Parco Naturale Archeologico della Rocca e del Sasso, an open-air museum that describes the landscape, the nature and the history of a unique territory.
In the underlying area there are some archeological excavations which prove the presence of settlements, for example of the Etruscans and of the Romans. On the top of the rock, thanks to the renovations, it’s possible to see the rests of the ancient Medieval Castle.
There are many gorgeous panoramic points of view with a complete view on Lake Garda. The ancient origins and the particular and favorable climatic and environmental conditions determined the abundance of the flora and the fauna which inhabit the territory around the Rocca.
Go for a stroll in this Park, go along the renovated paths, which are well and clearly signalized, let yourself involve by the scents and by the colors of an environment that always become new in each season can be an unforgettable experience.
We suggest this trip to those people who love to combine history with nature and panoramas, since there are evidences on the top, the park below the rock and the beautiful view you can have on Lake Garda.
