Spiazzi di Ferrara di Monte Baldo
For those looking for an excursion a little different than usual, the sanctuary Madonna della Corona is the right choice. The sanctuary is located in Spiazzi, between Caprino Veronese and Ferrara di Monte Baldo, nestled in an overhanging rock on the Etschtal and takes its name from the mountain crown that surrounds it.
This place is the ideal destination for those who want to mix worship and interior serenity moments to moments of relaxation in order to enjoy the tranquility the sights that nature is able to offer. It’s a place of silence and reflection, suspended between sky and earth, hidden in the heart of the Monte Baldo’s rocks.
The sanctuary represents since centuries a pilgrimage destination: the “Pilgrims’ Path” (or “Hope’s path” starts from Brentino Belluno and continues deep in the wood with a difference in height of about 600 meters and 1540 steps, for a total of about 2 hours walking.
Until some years ago the path from Brentino Belluno represented the only way to reach this magic place, while the simplest and easiest way to reach the sanctuary starts from Spiazzi: it’s a descent of about 15-20 minutes through staircases. As an alternative, always starting from Spiazzi, you can take the fee-paying-shuttle, which leaves every 15 minutes during the festive days and each 30 minutes during the working days.
This is one of the most beautiful and frequented itineraries in the province of Verona thanks to the wonders that the landscape can offer: all the effort and the sweat of the stroll disappear once you reach the destination, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view!
