Lungolago Marconi, Lazise, VR
A cycle path that runs alongside the lake and that can be traveled in total safety even with children: it is the Lazise - Garda cycle/pedestrian path, which is added to the other cycle paths to do for those visiting Lake Garda with children described on this occasion (at this link you can read the article on the other cycle paths).
From Lazise to Bardolino
The bike tour can comfortably start from one of the Lagodigardacamping campsites in Pacengo or Lazise and, pedaling along the lakefront on a dirt and gravel road, you will arrive at the gates of Lazise, where you can get off the saddle, stop and play at the playground outside the walls and then visit the beautiful village dominated by the mighty Scaligero castle.
After crossing the town and past the marina, you get back on the saddle in order to ride towards Bardolino, meeting the welcoming port of Cisano, with its clubs, colored flags and a large square where children can get off and play. A little further on, towards Bardolino and right on the cycle path, there is also a playground surrounded by greenery with a slide, climbing and swings overlooking the lake, at the Lido of Cisano.
Here the cycle path is ideal for traveling with children: all lakeside, paved and very safe.
From Cisano the cycle-pedestrian path arrives in Bardolino, entering the historic center from its elegant lakefront, perfectly maintained and very welcoming.
The port of Bardolino is a tidy and fascinating picture: here you can stop for an ice cream or a break at the playground, before getting back on the saddle towards Garda.
From Bardolino to Garda
The segment of cycle path that connects Bardolino and Garda is about 6 km long, can be traveled in total safety and offers spectacular views of the coast that extends northwards, towards Punta San Vigilio and the waters of the lake, which here take on a color and an exceptional clarity.
The cycle path is asphalted, sometimes well shaded and it is a pleasure to travel on two wheels even with children. Once you arrive at your destination (about 14 km in total from the campsites of Lazise), you can dive into the splendid waters of the lake or from here you can decide to lengthen the route a little until you reach Punta San Vigilio and its wonderful Baia delle Sirene.
However, this last stretch from Garda to Punta San Vigilio is not on a cycle/pedestrian path, so we recommend you to be careful if you are traveling with children.
What other excursions can you do from Garda or Bardolino?
Of course, a walk on the Rocca di Garda can’t be missed, here you can find the article in which we tell you about the route.
