Christmas in Manerba is known for its Mechanical Nativity. The Mechanical Nativity of Manerba del Garda covers an area of about three hundred square metres: plays of light, details taken care of down to the tiniest detail and inserted year after year to enrich the overall scene; carefully chosen settings and original electronic and handcrafted mechanisms that make the statues move in an almost natural way.
In fact, some 500 statuettes animate the sometimes familiar and village landscapes while gestures and movements are driven by hydraulic pumps and motors. To visit it in all its splendour, just take a tour of the Church of San Giovanni, where the "Amici di San Bernardo" volunteer group is responsible for this handcrafted creation of great scenic impact.
The Mechanical Nativity is part of the programme of Christmas events in Manerba del Garda, which offers shows, markets, and concerts for the entire family, as well as the inevitable workshops and entertainment for children.
