Tradition, culture and food and wine are intertwined in Bardolino with the colours and flavours of autumn, in this festival where the absolute protagonist is Bardolino Novello: the first fruit of the harvest; a wine that is therefore young, soft and fruity.
The wineries of Bardolino present... the Novello wine! From Saturday 4 to Sunday 5 November from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. the Piazza del Porto of Bardolino will host a Novello wine tasting stand and a market selling typical products. The Cornicello lakefront will host the street food festival with Eatinero truck food, accompanied by musical performances and street artists.
Bardolino Novello was the first novello wine to obtain DOC certification in 1987. Novello wine is not just a young wine, but is the result of a special production process that differs from normal fermentation, which gives the wine fruity aromas and a smooth, mellow taste. It goes well with cured meats, soups and fried fish, but especially with roast chestnuts to be eaten on St Martin's Day.
